In Shamanic cultures, it’s believed that we all have power or spirit animals. The feminine can be soft and delicate, but she can also be untamed, dark, and fierce. You embrace the sacred feminine when you follow your inner voice over the voices of others.

The heart chakra is one of the most beautiful chakras to engage with, as well as one of the most painful.

Nothing quite beats the feeling of being in love — with a partner, a child, the sunrise, with life itself. You might find it easy to be joyful, kind, and generous — with others and with yourself.

However, if something happens to hurt our hearts — partners leave us, parents die, or friends betray us — it’s as though we plummet to the depths. This is a natural human response when we experience pain in our hearts. In many ways, the heart holds both the rose and the thorn, and we will experience both in our lives.

Our heart chakra stays balanced if we allow ourselves to express the natural rhythms of the heart. This means that there will be times in our lives when we suffer. Although we don’t need to hold onto the pain forever, it is a natural and healthy response to sometimes feel sadness in our lives.

To truly find freedom in our lives, we need to gently begin to release the pain we’ve been holding on to so we can return to love. We can do this by dancing the heart chakra.

The throat chakra is our source of communication and the gateway to our creative expression.

When balanced, we can express ourselves freely, authentically, and creatively. We can live according to our truth. It’s as though we sing the song of our soul out into the world — through our voice, movements, words, gestures, color, and art. Even in the way we dress, cook, and problem-solve.

Sadly, for so many of us, our life experiences can cause us to shut down our authentic expression. We learn to hide who we truly are. We wear different masks when we interact with others to shield ourselves from the world or to feel loved or safe.

As we become increasingly disconnected from our true selves, we lose touch with our innate creative expression and our inner source of spontaneity.

Dancing the throat chakra will help you re-discover your authentic truth and expression. It will help you gently remove the masks you are wearing so you can shine your true creative light out into the world.

Our intuition is a higher sense of perception. It gives us the ability to know something, even when we have no rational explanation for knowing it. It’s like a source of wisdom we receive in a flash. The more we ignore the flashes, the less we notice them. We become disconnected from the powerful gift of our intuition.

As we balance our third eye chakra, it’s like we turn a light switch on in our lives, allowing us to see in new ways. We learn to balance our logical mind with our intuitive mind, so our lives become guided by both.
